Initially we had the Tupac hologram at 2012 music festival Coachella, then a Freddie Mercury reincarnation at the 2012 Olympics and finally, we gain a 2013 Audrey Hepburn ad for Galaxy. I know this is not something we normally feature, but our love for advertising doesn’t just stop at fashion and music. We feel both interests are seen in this advert, with the stylish character of Audrey and a soundtrack also provided by the star. Galaxy have gone beyond the hologram effect and enhanced a modern day Audrey through the use of 3D technology. Original Hepburn footage was used alongside VFX visual effects. There has been a lot of controversy about the advert. People argue that the actress had no choice in the advertisement, yet we are just happy to be reminded of our icon. Her legacy lives on whether it be in a photograph, film or a manipulated image that appears to be more realistic than her films. The clip was filmed on the stunning Amalfi Coast in Italy and uses classic song “Moon River” from Audrey Hepburn’s Breakfast at Tiffanys.
