NINA NESBITT LIVE AT LEEDS REVIEW

Nina Nesbitt, the girl we’ve all heard about. This Scottish singer/songwriter from Edinburgh, Scotland, has made great success since the release of her well known single and biggest hit ”Stay Out” in April 2013. Since then her line of success has continued and she has recently released her single ”Selfies” which was featured on her latest debut album ”Peroxide” release late February 2014. Touring with the likes of Ed Sheeran and Example it was obvious that Nina’s musical talent was not going to be easily forgotten or lost.

Relaxed, Calm and exciting. The audience was welcomed into a zone of festival spirit. Dressed in a casual pop/rock girl style; Black Docs, black tights, and a black tee topped with denim shorts. Nothing bad could come from her appearance and from the look of the set list nothing could go wrong from there either.

Nina’s confidence. Confidence is the key to a good performance and that’s exactly what she had with her clear vocals the power of her voice was able to meet the demands of her backing tracks. Sharing a unique electro sound throughout some of her new tracks in comparison to the indie/pop feel vocalised with her earlier tracks the whole audience was pleased. Strong spotlights and varied lighting helped creating a festival atmosphere made more intense with audience interaction and very little wasted time between interaction and songs.

The only disadvantage of our spot and really the whole concert was my view of what was going on onstage was awfully limited to occasionally being able to see only Nina’s leg depending on the dancing in front of me.  From what I could see she has bags of energy and really knows how to play. She commands the stage well and has masses of rock ‘n’ roll attitude. Nina looked like an artist that truly was having the time of her life and really enjoying performing to an audience because music was her true passion.  Despite the minor defaults of limited view the crowd didn’t want the gig to stop and neither did I. Nina Nesbitt is definitely someone I’d have to recommend seeing.
