Karl Largerfeld final Chanel Show Soundtrack 2019

Chanel displayed an emotional tribute to Karl Largerfeld and his final collection.

The fashionable farewell opened with a minutes silence and followed with Karl’s recording explaining the collection. 2.5k viewers gathered at the Grand Palais which is the iconic space that is reinvented year on year, by the fashion house and turned into a spectacular immersive set. This time an alpine themed ski resort which resembled a Tyrolean village complete with a gorgeous chalet and wooden balconies.

The tone was more of a celebration for the brand but often tears were present. Perhaps the most memorable gift was left on seats for the audience, that was a sketch of Largerfeld himself alongside Coco Chanel that read, ‘the beat goes on.’

One of Karl’s favourite muses, Cara Delevingne opened the show, other faces present included Kaia Gerber, Penelope Cruz, Claudia Schiffer, Kristen Stewart and Naomi Campbell.

The soundtrack to the finale was David Bowie’s, ‘Heroes.’ An electronic and ambient mood for guests to reflect on the legacy of Karl.
