The 1995 hit comedy film Clueless, is a very very modern adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Emma.” Alicia Silverstone played the stylish superficial teenager (Cher Horrowitz) who was obsessed with fashion and lived in the affluent suburbs of Beverley Hills. The film showcased a number of savvy outfits and is still a cult movie on television. It seems that 90’s style has completed its fashion circle arriving just in time for Spring Summer 2013. WILDFOX COUTURE have nailed it with their art direction this season………….

dressed Beverly Hills babes named Cher, Tai, and Dionne. Amy Heckerling, the mastermind behind
the cultural phenomenon, said it best through her leading lady Cher Horowitz, “So okay, I don’t
want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don’t get how guys dress today. I mean, come
on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair –
ew – and cover it up with a backwards cap and like, we’re expected to swoon?” AS IF! Everything
about the “Clueless” world captured a generation of girls who wanted it all, and who were going
to look great getting it. Amy Heckerling created a bold new take on the modern girl amidst the
sea of grunge that filled the 90’s. Wildfox’s Spring 2013 collection pays tribute to Heckerling,
capturing the spirit of “Clueless” and their iconic leading ladies. We’re the Kids In America!”
Enjoy the WILDFOX COUTURE lookbook along with our favourite music from the film. The lookbook recreates memorable scenes from the hit movie. We are very nostalgic whilst flicking through the shots. Clueless really captured materialistic teenage America. We too had always dreamed of a 4×4 jeep, a walk in wardrobe and a flip mobile phone. Our favourite look is Tai’s shirt which is casually tied around her waist exactly like it was in the film.
The shots are so accurate, WILDFOX selected a perfect location for the shoot. The house looks identical !
