The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms | London Culture

Just as we say adiós to the House of Peroni, we welcome another cocktail soiree with open arms. Meet The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms. Gin lovers unite……..

Tanqueray will be taking up residence to create an ‘at home’ experience that will reimagine the original cocktail hour for the gin lovers of today.

The birth of the cocktail party heralded in a sophisticated new age of socialising where art deco reigned supreme, Hollywood epitomised the golden life and cocktails were the symbol of style and glamour. Out were the days of debauched and underground speakeasies, and in their place emerged elegant soirées held in the homes of the prosperous youth of the time. Tanqueray throws opens the doors for people to explore life after prohibition, with this exciting new pop-up experience:

Step into The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms, inspired by Open House London weekend and Peter Dazeley’s new book ‘Unseen London’; which offer a backstage look at some of the capital’s most intriguing addresses. Tanqueray will reveal what’s hidden behind the doors of the private Georgian living room at Six Fitzroy Square, providing the perfect backdrop to a series of carefully curated evenings filled with fashion, history, cocktails and culture.

As to be expected with a building steeped in unique history, guests can be sure of delightful surprises on the night, with secret rooms, and intrigues throughout. Party hosts of the time were expected to provide guests with truly personalised trinkets and experiences, and Tanqueray is no exception to this; digital illustrator, Sophie Barton, will be on hand to create personalised illustrations inspired by Tanqueray’s very own red wax seal. With male styling sessions from purveyors of impeccable style, Sartoria Lab, and vintage headpiece making sessions with expert workshop curators the Indytute, guests can take away a piece of this magnificent period.

Classic cocktails and serves have been developed with a signature Tanqueray twist by UK World Class Bartender of the Year 2014 James Fowler and 2012 Andy Mil, as well as Tanqueray Global and UK Ambassadors, Barrie Wilson and Tim Homewood.

The Tanqueray Drawing Rooms pop-up is part of the #TanquerayThursdays series; an evolving weekly guide to the top ten coolest Thursday night experiences in London and exclusive cocktail offers for Tanqueray fans at each destination. Starting from 9th October to 11th December, events include Forza Winter, Swingers crazy golf in Shoreditch and Candlelight Club Halloween night.
