BROLIN SERVANT JAZZ QUARTERS DALSTON REVIEW

Last week we headed downstairs in the basement of the Servant Jazz Quarters to watch a set by Brolin……

In 2013, we stumbled across the masked producer at Sound City Festival. In Dalston, Brolin once again appears understated with his illusive disguise contrasted by casual attire. His nothern wit is perfectly sandwiched between songs that slowly allow the crowd to wind down from the euphoric tempo.

Signed to Double Denim records Brolin’s blissful electronic pop vibrates through the sound system for those post summer drinking days. Catchy electro pop rhythms suit the attractive raspy voice of Brolin who tells the crowd to dance or in London, ‘move from side to side.’ His debut EP was a delicate sound that created loud impact in the music industry.

Brolin’s songs are compositions of depth and yearning, eliciting the beauty of the traveling hence the fact that he names his songs after places he has visited. There is nothing better than realising the heady intensity of freedom, love, and promise -which is what Brolin’s music makes you feel.

Joyous, shimmering electronic production is accompanied by a beatific vocal performances including ‘Reykjavik’, ‘NYC’, ‘Lisboa’ and finally new material ‘Swim Deep.’ This gig also marked the forthcoming album as wholly anticipation-worthy. Listen to some of his tracks below…….
