ROBBIE WILLIAMS & KAYA SCODELARIO – CANDY MUSIC VIDEO

Robbie William’s new single Candy is about a girl who has it all, well beauty and brains with a garnish of arrogance. The song was co-written with Take That band member Gary Barlow. Candy is released on November 5th inside a very cool polka dot album art work sleeve. Maybe Robbie was trying to get down with the kids by choosing actress/model Kaya Scodelario to power walk in his music video. The actress has also been in musician Plan B’s music video. Kaya was suitable for the song about a female who supposedly thinks she’s great but is far too preoccupied to notice the mayhem that Williams has caused. To us the song underlies an assumption that some boys make about a pretty girl. William’s track was too upbeat to consider the possibility of the girl having too much pride and being slightly insecure. Anyhow, all of these traits are similar to Kaya’s role of Effy Stonem in cult tv show Skins. Effy was the modern day rebel without a cause, whose volatile behaviour was glamourised through scenes of cigarettes and sex. Scodelario’s character had substance, people could relate to her fragile traits and fashionable bad girl appearance. Maybe it is a 90’s singer trend to pick a younger muse for their songs. Noel Gallagher called in a video appearance favour from cult tv show star Mischa Barton see here. We share the Candy video with you along with a Kaya Scodelario Skins gallery.

Skins series 7 returns to our screens in spring 2013. This is a 3 part more cinematic version of events. It will appeal to the Skins followers who have gone through the transition of teenager to adult. The film will show where characters like Effy are now, we hope they haven’t taken a sensible route.
