YOUTUBE COVERS OF THE WEEK

YOUTUBE COVERS OF THE WEEK

On repeat this week at Fash Soundtrack are a few unexpected tracks. We haven’t been listening out for the next big thing, radio airplay or Spotify. Youtube has been our port of call and channel subscriptions have been made to the list below. There seems to be a trend for softly sung acoustic voices putting their mark on RnB tunes.

“No Diggity” has been re-worked by Ed Sheeran and Passenger, it blends in well with ‘Thrift Shop.” We hadn’t heard of Passenger till now, his husky vocals offer us a a fresh take on Blackstreet’s 1996 hit.

The Weeknd’s Triology album introduced us to meaningful song, “The Morning” which was covered by Eliza Doolittle. Her band sit in her bedroom creating incredible harmonies. Eliza makes the track seem effortless and we can’t get enough of it..

Next up is Emmalyn Estrada, an American You Tube success who gave us shivers from her version of ‘Trust Issues’ by Drake. Drizzy’s original lyrics take a while to sink in but Emmalyn shows you only need to listen to her version once to absorb all the emotions of the track. Another bedroom recorder set for a big future….
